News Commentary from a Biblical Perspective

"Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment." Proverbs 12:19

"The new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 guidance is the agency acknowledging it was wrong in the past to downplay natural immunity and promote unprecedented policies like asymptomatic testing, a California epidemiologist says."

So begins the article by The Epoch Times on August 13, 2022, updated August 15, 2022. The changes in guidelines finally admit the reality of natural immunity. Of course, the CDC does not admit to falsifying the truth. They merely cite the mantra that with science, understanding changes over time.

Dr. Jay Battacharya, professor of medicine at Stanford University parses the language of the CDC. They were admitting they were wrong, but they won't put it in those words, he said. The simply say that the science has changed.

I, for one, have long felt that the guidelines on COVID were more about control than they were about scientific accuracy. For the first time in history, the recommendation of the US Government was that the whole of society be quarantined rather than quarantining the sick. The Government picked winners and losers. Mom-and-Pop businesses had to shut down. Churches had to shut cown. But "essential" businesses like Walmart and Costco could stay open.

The CDC finally had to face the reality that the nation had achieved a degree of "herd immunity." But honesty was never the guiding light. I have never heard of any double-blind studies on the wearing of masks versus the non-wearing of masks. Nor I have I heard of any double-blind studies on the efficacy of immunization versus the efficacy of natural immunization from having come down with COVID. I am not saying there have been no such studies. I just have not heard of any.

God is a God of truth, and the truthful will prosper. Liars will not.
