Bringing Truths from Different Books of the Bible into Focus, Perspective, and Understanding.

"Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come like a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined. And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week ..." Daniel 9:26-27a.

Signs of the End of the Age, Part 3

The Emergence of Eurabia

In this series of articles we have been examining, from a Biblical perspective, those events that serve as signs of the coming end of the age. In Part 1 we discussed the reemergence of the State of Israel. In Part 2 we examined the unification of Europe. Now in Part 3 we examine the emergence of Eurabia.

I have long believed that the prophet Daniel predicted the reemergence of a Revived Roman Empire (Daniel 2; 9:24-27). The European Union is, I believe, part of the fulfillment of those prophecies. But if you look at a map of the Old Roman Empire, Rome did not control merely Southern Europe. No, it also controlled all of North Africa and the Middle East. If we are ever to see a revived Roman Empire, I reasoned, there will have to be some sort of union of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

One enormous obstacle has existed to prevent that union for centuries – Religion. Europe has a Christian history, while North Africa and the Middle East, at least since the Seventh Century, have been largely Muslim. For a revived Roman Empire to take place, I reasoned, one side or the other would have to compromise. As Europe’s Christianity has waned, I thought, it will not be the Middle East and North Africa who become Christian, but Europe who becomes Muslim. In my research I began to look for signs that Europe was becoming Islamicized.

One day I obtained a copy of Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis, by Bat Ye’or. She laid out in devastating detail the efforts of European political leaders, led by the French, to form alliances with Arab countries, beginning in the 1960’s. These alliances included political, educational, cultural, linguistic, commercial, journalistic, and immigration agreements between the leaders of Europe and Arab states. The motivations for this pact on the part of Europeans were commercial, transportational (oil), and political – a deliberate attempt by Europe, especially the French, to dethrone America as the leader of the world. For a brief summary of her views, see her interview with Front Page Magazine Magazine, published online September 21, 2004.
I could not believe what I was reading! Europe’s leaders were willingly participating in the Islamization of Europe! Mark Steyn has written America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It. He argues convincingly that, without firing a shot, and simply on the strength of a much higher fertility rate, Arab peoples will gain political control of Europe within three to five decades! There will simply be more Arabs than Europeans in Europe.

This is an amazing sign, I believe, that we are nearing a completely revived, pan-Mediterranean Neo-Roman Empire, dominated by the Arab world-view, yet retaining a European flavor. The Roman Empire will exist again, and it will be a huge player in global politics before Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom.

The end of this age draws near. Unbelievable global turmoil lies ahead. Jesus Christ is  your only hope. Have you submitted to Him?
