Eschatology The Study of Last Things by James T. Bartsch Learning about the Future to Live Better Today |
In this series of
articles we
have been examining, from a Biblical perspective, those events that
serve as
signs of the coming end of the age. In Part
1 we discussed the reemergence of
the State of Israel. In Part 2
we examined the unification of Europe. Now in
Part 3 we examine the emergence of Eurabia. I have long
believed that the
prophet Daniel predicted the reemergence of a Revived Roman Empire
(Dan.
2;
9:24-27). The European Union is, I believe, part of the
fulfillment of those
prophecies. But if you look at a map of the Old Roman Empire, Rome did
not
control merely Southern Europe. No, it also controlled all of North
Africa and
the Middle East. If we are ever to see a revived Roman Empire, I
reasoned,
there will have to be some sort of union of Europe, the Middle East,
and North
Africa. One enormous
obstacle has
existed to prevent that union for centuries – Religion. Europe has a
Christian
history, while North Africa and the Middle East, at least since the
Seventh
Century, have been largely Islamic. For a revived Roman Empire to take
place, I
reasoned, one side or the other would have to compromise. As Europe’s
Christianity has waned, I thought, it will not be the Middle East and
North
Africa who become Christian, but Europe who will be conquered by Islam. In my
research I
began to look for signs that Europe was becoming Islamicized.
This is an amazing sign, I believe, that we are nearing a completely revived, pan-Mediterranean Neo-Roman Empire, dominated by the Arab, Islamic world-view, yet retaining a European flavor. The Roman Empire will exist again, and it will be a huge player in global politics before Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom. As of 2016, the Islamization of Europe has only accelerated. With the decision of President Barack Obama to withdraw forces from Iraq, a huge power vacuum developed. It didn't stay a vacuum for long. Islam declared a Caliphate, known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). With its brutal policies, ISIS flushed out millions of Muslim refugees, particularly in Syria, that have flooded Europe. The leaders of Europe, for the most part, have welcomed the refugees with open arms, even though many of their people have opposed the policy vociferously. The common people can see the disastrous effects of uncontrolled Islamic immigration. Despite the friendly stance of Europe's leaders, ISIS has remained as belligerent as ever, instigating Muslim terrorist incursions into cities like Paris and Beligium. Europe's leaders turn a deaf ear to the cries of their own people. It is almost as though they were hell-bent on destroying their own countries. It is no wonder that the sensible people of the UK voted to withdraw from the European Union and control their own sovereignty. The end of this age draws near. Unbelievable global turmoil lies ahead. Jesus Christ is your only hope. Have you submitted to Him? [Footnote as of August, 2020:
America and her allies finally subdued ISIS to the point where it no
longer represents a sovereign state. However, ISIS terrorists continue
to make their presence felt. Moreover, with his pro-Islamic sentiments,
former President Obama had allowed pro Islamic immigrants into America
in such numbers that Ilhan Omar was elected to Congress from Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib from Michigan. Both are decidedly anti-Israel and anti-US. Thank you, President Obama!]
